Baroque Duets was recorded in Sydney in July-August 2010. Fiona Campbell and David Walker had sung together for Pinchgut Opera in Juditha Triumphans (2007) and L’Ormindo (2009) and decided that they must make a recording of their favourites duets from the baroque. Vexations840 was happy to make it their first project.
The recording contains the duet from Act III of L’Ormindo when Erisbe (Fiona) and Ormindo (David) have been forced to take poison and believe they are dying (they aren’t). It also contains world premiere recordings of two songs: Steffani – Volante, momenti” from La Liberta Contenta and Handel “Caro autor di mia doglia” Vexations840 has several other projects in planning.
